South Eastern Council of Governments
Business Development

As a designated Economic Development District by the Economic Development Administration, the South Eastern Council of Governments (SECOG) works to promote economic development and job creation in southeastern South Dakota.

To help provide additional access to financial capital for new and expanding businesses, SECOG created and staffs two partnering organizations, the South Eastern Development Foundation and Dakota BUSINESS Finance.  Both organizations provide low interest loans to new and existing businesses that might not necessarily be able to meet their financial needs exclusively through conventional lending sources.

The South Eastern Development Foundation (SEDF), through its regional Revolving Loan Fund, provides financing for a variety of business needs including land, buildings, permanent fixtures, equipment/machinery, and working capital.  For more information about the South Eastern Development Foundation click here.

Dakota BUSINESS Finance offers borrowers and lenders the opportunity to access the U.S. Small Business Administration’s 504 Loan Program.  The 504 Program provides access to low interest financing to purchase, expand, or construct land and buildings or long-term machinery/equipment.  For more information about Dakota BUSINESS Finance or the SBA 504 Program click here
